We have owned several Honda cars and never had any significant performance problems. With our 2008 Honda Fit, we have been experiencing total engine failure when the car is first started for about a mile or two. The engine dies at any stop or turn within the first mile or two and this problem is more significant when it is cold outside, but happens at any temperature as well. We have tried to get this problem fixed at a Honda dealership, but several attempt later - the problem is still with us! We spent several thousand dollars doing about a dozen different suggested fixes - no luck! Warming up the car does not solve the problem. The problem goes away after driving the first mile or two, but this presents significant safety concern whenever we come to red light, stop sign, turning! Worried about our safety.
