Turned on the car to see "D" blinking and service light appear. Attempted to drive the vehicle and there was significant shuttering. Had the vehicle towed to Honda dealership since it felt unsafe to drive. Damage occurred seemingly overnight, unsure of the cause of problems at the time.
I have had virtually no problems with my Honda Fit before this. I heard that rodents are attracted to the soy-based wiring cover. The dealership charged me for service but not parts. I am not entirely sure how that fixed the wiring aside from "repaired rodent damage" as listed on my service report. Thankfully I have free towing with my insurance otherwise that would have been an additional expense to the $390 bill.
