In February 17,2021 while I was checking the oil level in my car I smelled a strong odor of gas and suspected oil dilution due to the fact that CR Vs and Civics that have the 1.5L earth dreams technology engine [ same like mine ] have a known issue with oil dilution and my understanding is HONDA motors has given an extended warranty to 2017 -2018 CRVs and 2016-2018 Civics owners to protect them from future problems that might occur to the engines because of this problem.
In order to confirm my suspicion I took an oil sample and sent it to a laboratory for an oil analysis. In March 3 ,2021 I received the results indicating that there was an abnormal oil dilution. I called Honda Corporate reported the results and was told to take the car to the local dealer, the dealer [Coggin Honda in Orlando} told me that they do not know what to do and notified the Honda district representative who told them there is nothing can be done.
So even though Honda has acknowledged that there is a problem with this particular engine and gave additional warranties to the above mentioned vehicle owners, they are refusing to offer me any kind of protection for possible future engine problems.
