I have been fighting with Honda since August 2021 to try to get them to pay for a paint job. Their response is that the warranty is up so they won't cover it. I get that, but a car that is only 7 years old should not have this type of paint deterioration. My daughter's 2013 Elantra has perfect paint. Both cars are exposed to the sun equally.
I know Honda has an "exception" clause to the warranty. From my discussions at the Honda dealership, I think one of the reasons they won't cover it is because I did not have service done at the dealership. I purchased the car through AAA, so didn't see a need to do that.
I got a quote to do just the roof and hood at a Honda body shop of $1200. I think the whole car needs done and got an estimate of $7000 to $9000, which is about half of what Kelly Blue Book has. That is just crazy! The are only has 55,000 miles.
