We took out honda civic in for a recall on the transmission in which they downloaded a new software fix. Now the car has no power and the MPG has drastically gone down. According to an article in the LA Times and the broadcaster Clark Howard, Honda knows that there is a problem with their electrical batteries and instead of replacing them, they download a software fix which bypasses the battery to make the car run. It is Honda's way of fixing a problem that would cost them too much to fix. Unfortunately, it ruins the power and fuel efficiency. WE WANT A NEW BATTERY and we think it stinks that Honda ruined our car by downloading that software.
