The car is a 2005 civic hybrid the hybrid. batteries are supposed to last 8 years. I took the car to the dealer they put in a regular 12 volt battery. this helped. They report I need the hybrid battery pack which will cost $3000.00. I said is there not an 8 year warranty on the battery. They reported that because there is more than 90.000 miles on the car the warranty is null and void. I am driving the car without a new battery but its like trying to drive a mule team. Oh and just replacing a simple 12 volt battery and a few simple repairs cost $1000.00 so the dealership is the last place I want to take my car. Why can not these expensive Hybrid Batteries be rebuilt?I have loved the car got up to 48 MPG.
