I just purchased my 2018 Honda Civic EX hatchback on 4/17/2018. 3 months ago started this occasional faint scraping metal sound every time I turn on the AC. It has gotten louder and more frequent. I go on to Google to see if there is a recall and I learn that I am one of the many HUNDREDS of customers that have this problem that eventually turn into their AC blowing hot air. And Honda, after making customers PAY to look at the problem says either one of the three things. 1) there is nothing wrong, or 2) that the problem is caused by road debris and they make the customer pay between $1100-$1800, or 3) that the AC issue is not covered.
There are SEVERAL law firms assisting the customers who have purchased or leased Honda Civics from 2016-2019. Honda is aware that they installed faulty air conditioning units. I have an appointment with the service department tomorrow. I have printed dozens of pages from law firms and Honda customer sites about this issue. I will let Honda know that I am aware of this issue, that I expect to have whatever is wrong with my AC fixed at no cost or I will sue the hell of of Honda.
I have purchased 6 Hondas and have never had an issue until now. Hopefully the dealership will fix whatever is wrong before my AC completely breaks down and blows hot air like the other customers. Also, according to user's message boards, I was to receive something in the mail extending my AC warranty for another 10 years and I got nothing! I had to learn of his huge lawsuit/s from Google!
