I have a 2018 Honda Civic and I have had to replace the windshield twice already, and will have to do it a third time once I have the money to fix it again. THIS CAR WILL HAVE HAD 4 DIFFERENT WINDSHIELDS AFTER THIS NEXT REPLACEMENT. I can't afford to be replacing the windshield on my car every year. I love Honda, but this car is really making me think second about purchasing a vehicle from them again. I had a 2018 Jeep Compass for 3 years and not once did I get a stone chip or any cracks in the windshield.
I just upgraded my 2018 Compass to a 2021 Cherokee so hopefully the no stone chip/crack trend continues for it. I was thinking about trading in my 2018 Civic to get a newer model, but I am very hesitant on that as I don't want to have to replace 3 more windshields in the next 3 years. I have read a bit and seen that a lot of other people have said that the glass Honda uses is very cheap and is prone to crack easier. This Civic is really letting me down...
I bought a 2018 Civic hatchback brand new. It has 4 separate cracks from 4 separate rocks. If I had replaced the windshield each time it cracked, I would have paid $3200 on new windshields in less that 4 years. There simply must be something wrong with these windshields. I had a Corolla for 6 years...not a single crack.
