Car fuel injectors will fail and cause misfiring. Dangerous to drive due to engine running rough. Unusual for fuel injectors to go out so soon especially when driven with care and using correct fuel octane.

The Civic idles low after coming to a stop. Idles approximately 500 rpm-??s. Periodically it will drop below 500 and stall. About 3 occurrences so far. Once at 500, there is no throttle response. The pedal can be fully depressed and the motor will continue to idle. Throttle response will occur anywhere from 5 to 10 seconds later. My work around is to take the car out of DRIVE and put it back. This solves problem. Mostly. I may have to do that a second time. Reverse is different. The car doesn-??t move at all 100% of the time. And it takes me to move in and out of Reverse to get it to move. There are occasions that the throttle will activate. But, if you lift off the throttle-??. It won-??t engage. Below asks when this happens. It began over a year ago. I would depress the throttle and could count to 3 before going. Now it-??s longer than 10. But, since I-??ve learned about taking the car out of gear.

Fuel injectors failing before 65,000 miles, causing cylinder 1, 2, and 3 misfires consistently. This problem is known by Honda, but was never recalled. This is on all of the 1.5L engine models sold after 2016. They have even created a new part with the necessary flex joints to correct the issue, but charge out of pocket for inevitable and completely unavoidable replacement. This is nearly a $1400 repair from an OEM part that is guaranteed to fail around 60-70k miles. Multiple cylinder misfires have cause complete loss of throttle power and acceleration while driving on multiple occasions, and should provide cause for concern as an inoperable vehicle due to manufacturer quality failure is completely unsafe and should not be pinned on the owner of the vehicle. I have been left with no choice but to save up money, while living paycheck to paycheck in capitalist America, to replace these DEALERSHIP ONLY injectors while risking a flooding of catalytic converter with raw fuel due to system failure. Multiple safety features, including traction control and power steering assistance, are completely inoperable due to these misfires caused by faulty OEM fuel injectors. This issue is a SAFETY concern and also a vehicular health concern. I should not be given the -??destroy your vehicle and risk your safety or replace a $1300 part out of pocket-?? dilemma because of quality failure at production levels.

Fuel injectors failed twice and part is on back order

My fuel injectors have failed for the second time today. The first time they failed at 54k miles and the second time they failed at 94k miles. Both times I was on the expressway driving at least 55mph when suddenly the car does not accelerate and I am forced to pull over as my car slows down. This is dangerous when I am on the expressway and suddenly I cannot maintain a safe rate of speed for this kind of road. Honda refused to replace the injectors the first time because I was past my general 36k mile warranty although I was still within my 60k powertrain warranty. Although the manufacturer of the injectors Keihin considers the injectors a powertrain component, Honda does not by definition in their warranty. I am now left with a repair bill of over $500 for the second time for fuel injectors and a fuel rail. Honda needs to be held responsible and ordered to issue a recall for this widespread issue.

check engine lights display periodically. The main one involves the fuel injectors. It has been an on going problem for 6-8 months. When I contacted the dealership I was told the part is not available Nationwide at this time and not sure when it will become available. While driving the car can go into "limp" mode where it doesn't let you go above 30 MPH. This problem first started approximately October 2022 after having the vehicle just over 7 months. When I contact the Dealership I was told there was nothing they could do but wait for the part to come in. Meanwhile I am paying for a vehicle that is not safe to drive, yet has no recalls on it. I was told by the Dealership that they have several vehicles at the auto auction that have the same issue that are not selling. I don't understand why Honda has not had a recall on this part. I am stuck with a vehicle, my only means of transportation, still making payments, and it sits in the garage. Please let me know if there's anything else you need from me.

The fuel injectors failed at 73,000miles. It can be inspected at a Honda dealership for their hourly labor rate. The car starts to display the following warning messages and lights; Emission system problem, Brake system problem, Brake hold system problem, Power steering system (EPS) problem, vehicle stability assist (VSA) problem, Hill start assist problem and then it goes into limp mode. I couldn-??t safely drive on the interstate highway I drive everyday to and from work. It is dangerous to be driving 70+mph and suddenly not be able to drive even 15mph. I have to merge through 4 lanes of traffic and I-??m losing speed and power. I have to put my hazard lights on and other drivers are swerving around me and beeping their horns (and worse) at me. I bought a second set of injectors from a Honda dealership and they confirmed that they knew there are issues. This set lasted just over 18months (about 55,000miles). At that point the following warning messages and lights started coming on; Emission system problem, Brake system problem, Brake hold system problem, Power steering system (EPS) problem, vehicle stability assist (VSA) problem, Hill start assist problem and then it would begin going into limp mode again. I went back to the same Honda dealership to talk to them about this issue and they said Honda has a new part number and they cannot order the same injectors I currently have (my second set) and they couldn-??t explain the difference between the -??old part #-?? injectors and the -??new part #-?? injectors. So they ordered me a new set and warned me that they are on back order and there is a list of people who have also ordered. I have been waiting for almost 2 months now and frequently call to inquire on the status of my order and they say they cannot tell me anything because they have not heard from Honda and have no information about the status of any of the orders.

I have oil dilution in my 2015 Honda Civic EX-T VIN [XXX]. Dealer performed the fixes. The Next time I had the oil sample checked it was worse. The oil smells like a weedeater. I am at 13.72% fuel in the oil. Very Rich. I live in Alabama where it is hot. I only drive long distances to and from work on the interstate. I need help. Honda is doing nothing. They are not telling the dealer anything or sharing any specs as acceptable percentage fuel in the oil. It is a coverup. TSBs have been done and engine checked and injectors are good. Please advise. 10.55% fuel was found in the oil according to a sample that was taken. Took to dealer and called honda. Dealer was told to perform Bulletin 18-137 I think. Dealer said was done and changed the oil also. Took a sample at 30% oil life after the fix and now there is 13.72% fuel in the oil. Took back to dealer they called Honda Engineers and was told it was normal and that was on the Low side 13.72%. Was not able to do anything. This is a coverup. You can smell fuel in the oil and oil is high on the dipstick when you check it and you can smell when driving.

At cold start, the idling engine shakes the steering wheel, dashboard, and much of the cabin. It feels like a poorly seated motor mount. I've driven Civics my whole life and have never felt a shake like this one. I took it to the local Honda dealership and left it overnight in hopes of replicating the cold start. They could not reproduce the problem but I'm beginning to worry.

Started driving when several warning labels came on that included brake system problem, emission system failure, hill assist failure, and power steering problem able to drive around block using brakes, normal power, running fine. Got into drive way brakes not working almost running into garage door. Shut of car, unplug battery, and wait to reset computer. Plug battery back on work for 4 days then did it again. Lucky I wasnt driving faster and there wasn't a child in front of car when brakes quit working. Some one is going to get run over if this computer/ software is not fixed. It shouldn't come to that.

My son and I purchased a certified pre-owned 2017 Honda Civic sedan on Dec 3rd from Honda of lisle il. The car was purchased with 22,100 miles. My son was driving on Dec 10th and stopped for gas for the first time. He got back in the car and started it up. He noticed the engine light came on. He immediately cam home and called for an appointment for the next day to have it checked out at the dealer. As he was driving to the dealer he got about 1 mile down the road when all of a sudden black smoke started pouring out of the engine compartment and the car froze up and immediately burst into flames. Thankfully it happened on a side street as he was slowing down for a traffic light. I had it towed to the dealer. Even though there is a law that they need to take it back within 15 days or less than 500 miles, they essentially told me it wasn't their problem and I needed to get my insurance involved. A fire inspector hired by the insurance company looked at the totaled vehicle and suspected the fire started near the battery. My insurance company informed me that they would have to have a fire engineer inspect it at a cost of $5,000 therefore they will not pursue further. This should not have happened to a certified car with 22K miles. Full video https://youtu.be/ttsvy7zgmw8

A/C stop blowing cold air. Took to Honda dealership for inspection turns out it is the evaporator has a leak. Warranty doesn't cover it anymore. 2,200 to replace it's disappointing newer model having issues like these. My 2010 Honda Civic blows cold after 10 year. Honda I hope there is something you can do for your customer that are having these same issues, we believed in Honda but sadly it is disappointing.

The A/C on these vehicles stop working after a while. Know other people that own a 2016/2017 Honda Civic and the A/C stops working. We've all took it back to the dealer to get it checked out and they try charging an arm to fix it. I don't think it's fair for us customers to be buying full price for these vehicles when they know the affects they have and then steal from us to get it fixed.

I have an acceleration problem very cerium in my Honda Civic 2017, it is about acceleration, imagine that you are going on the freeway through the carpool and suddenly the driver in front stops if you try to brake but once you are not going to reach to brake the brake and accelerate trying to avoid the accident but your car after releasing the brake pedal and accelerating does not accelerate and you as you released the breakers you stay in the middle of the freeway for 5 seconds with cars going at 70 mph well that's just one of my many almost accidents because the acceleration pedal did not respond correctly, luckily neither my wife nor I have had accidents although both of us have felt that lack of acceleration when you need it and the worst thing is that the mechanics and agents of the dealer make fun of one telling me that it is a common problem or that my mat was poorly accommodated or that the mechanic tells me that he felt the fault but the last one on the paper says that they did not find anything and just do an "update" when my life and my wife's life have been at risk more than 1 time, I bring my car 10 times to the dealer and I always receive the same answer and this last time my wife bring the car and the solution for the problem the solution to the problem according to the mechanics was to do general maintenance on all fluids with costs above $ 800 because the warranty does not cover that even when my car is under warranty, for my part I took the car to another certified mechanic and after reviewing it he told me that everything was nonsense, all the fluids were clean. He also explained that it is illegal to recommend fluid change or maintenance of certain things without no reason and effectively the paper than the dealer gave me has no reason why they wanted to sell all that to my wife.
