As a Honda technician, I realized a solid remedy for the engine, plastic, interior rattle ... it usually happens at a red light, or pretty much at idle. It sounds like the dashboard plastic in rattling in the corners ... for those wondering, I deal with about 5-10 new Honda Civics every other day at work ... THEY ALL do this minor rattle , but since I'm mechanically inclined I decided to conduct a test with my own 2016 civic ... long story short, HONDA recommends 87. It will work but as the outside temperatures reach 80 and above the octane is just enough to keep the engine on ... it'll do it all day everyday , but the ignition isn't as controlled as it should be ..........it needs a little more " mmmMmphhh " ........go to Name Brand Places like SUNOCO , Mobil , BP, and Shell ...And put 89 instead :) ............... I'm not saying this will completely take away the rattle ......however I can Guarantee !!!!!!! the sound with be drastically reduced & your civic wont rough idle as bad for when u have your friends / family / co-workers in the car , which can be embarrassing ....................oooOooooH ! and also "ve seen the BEST results with SUNOCO Overall, 2nd Place SHELL , 3rd place BP ........................
telling you !!! if you get any type of minor vibration or rattle in your civic and u think its coming from the dash to the engine bay , try thissss !!!!!!!
