The contact owns a 2017 Honda Civic. Upon starting the vehicle from a "cold start", the check engine and ABS warning indicators illuminated. The contact purchased the vehicle used several weeks ago. The vehicle was taken to sunwest Honda-Mazda (1030 North coast highway, newport, or 97365, (541) 265-8547) where the contact was advised that the failure could not be duplicated. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 5,000. Updated 9/21/18

Electronic braking failure and miscellaneous electric glitches. Automatic parking brake system failure warning light and brakes are locked in park. I have had 3 different electric glitches. First less than 2 weeks of purchasing my 2017 Civic turn signal was stuck on and would not turn off. Second 1 month after dash screen would not load. It was "buffering / thinking" took it to and dealer couldn't find the cause but fixed with a hard reset and it started working again and checked for software updates and it was current. Third problem a 2 weeks later, started the car and got brake failure warning light and check engine light. Car wouldn't move parking brakes locked up. Tried to push the brake hold and parking brake to manually disengage but wouldn't. had it towed to the Honda dealership. They did a second hard reset. I question if my Civic was part of the 2016 / partial 2017 recall for electric glitch that included the parking brake issue.

The vehicle was running and in park, unoccupied. Vehicle rolled away despite transmission being in park position and struck a garage door. Owner states he confirmed vehicle was in park when he came to the vehicle in its final resting position. For one day prior to this occurance, a brake error message had come on and off in the vehicle. It was a weekend, so the owner did not notify a service provider but was intending to schedule service on the Monday following. A claim has been filed with his auto insurance provider, erie insurance, to repair the body damage. Underlying issue needs investigation as there is not a recall for this specific VIN, but a recall has been issued for a known problem for other makes/models.

The contact owns a 2017 Honda Civic. While driving 10 mph and making a left turn, the brake pedal was applied, but failed to respond. The vehicle accelerated without warning. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was approximately 3,000.

I was left stranded three times today in my 2017 Honda Civic ex-T due to the electric parking brake failure. My vehicle was parked in a parking lot and I couldn't go anywhere. I wasn't close to home. I was in another state.

First time speedometer reading 0 while driving. Second time while driving down hwy, all error lights on dash came on, I have 10 or so photos, of the incident, speedometer read 0 going upward of 50 mph, power steering was going in and out and vehicle was very difficult to control. This is a huge issue being in Colorado. Took to dealer and they found nothing freedom Honda co springs, co. Now its the 3rd time a repeat of the second time every indicator error light illuminating, no speedometer, and power steering intermittent again. This is going to cause an accident. I am dropping the vehicle off Friday 9/8/2017 for diagnosis.

When pulling into a parking spot I put the car into park but the car kept moving forward, over a sidewalk and into a building. I put the car in reverse and could not stop the car until it hit another object. Had damage to the front bumper and grill.

I was driving the speed limit at 40mph. The collision mitigation braking system fired on an open road causing my car to stop abruptly. This caused me to get rear ended by the car behind me. There wasn't a car in front of me, it fired erratically. Police report was filed. After taking the car to the dealer, the dealer has indicated "there is nothing wrong". even though there were witness's at the scene as well as it causing an accident.

I was turning into a parking lot where I then proceeded to park my car into a parking spot. I put the car in park and the car continued to move forward. The car ended up hitting the building that was 2 feet in front of me. The car then reversed on it's own and charged forward to hit the building again. The second time it hit the building the air bag went off. I tried to put the car in reverse manually to prevent it from hitting the building. When I did this, the car accelerated backwards.
