Bought the car in Christmas time 2017. The AC started blowing hot air around mid July, 2021.
Brought it in to dealer for diagnosis. The dealer Buena Park Honda, CA charged for $350 for just the diagnosis. Unbelievable. The report states that the problem is from leaky Evaporator and leaky compressor. I was told there is an extended warranty to cover faulty condenser but not the evaporator and compressor. $1700+ was needed to replace the evaporator, and $1400+ was needed to replace the compressor. This is big money that of course I can not afford.
Browsing through internet forums, I saw tons of people having similar issues. The problems originated from the Honda's first using R1234yf as the coolant. Their whole AC system design has problems. Yet they are still trying to escape the responsibility by extending warranty only on the condenser not the whole system. What an evil and wicked Honda!
I will just keep advising my family members, friends, and acquaintance not buying Honda anymore unless they issue a new TSB to extend warranty to cover the whole system.
