I PURCHASED A BRAND NEW 2016 HONDA CIVIC TURBO SE-T ON JUNE 10TH, 2016 AT THE HONDA DEALERSHIP IN CONCORD, CA. I WAS REALLY EXCITED ABOUT MY NEW PURCHASE UNTIL AFTER A COUPLE OF MONTHS WHEN I STARTED HAVING ELECTRICAL ISSUES WITH MY WINDOWS NOT GOING UP OR DOWN WHEN THEY SUPPOSED TO. HAVING ISSUES WITH THE SUNROOF NOT CLOSING AND RADIO WORKING WHEN IT WANTS TO. MY CAR HAS BEEN IN & OUT THE SHOP ABOUT 7 TO 8 TIMES PRETTY MUCH FOR THE SAME ISSUE WHICH IS ALL ELECTRICAL. I HAVE AN OPEN CASE WITH HONDA CORPORATE WHICH THEY TRIED TO GET ME TO RELEASE THEM FROM ALL LIABILITY BY OFFERING TO PAY MY CAR NOTE FOR 2 MONTHS AND EXTEND MY WARRANTY FOR AN EXTRA YEAR. ALL I HAD TO DO WAS SIGN THE DOCUMENTS RELEASING THEM FROM ALL LIABILITY IF ANYTHING ELSE GOES WRONG WITH MY CAR. TO ME THAT WAS LIKE SIGNING ME & MY CHILDRENS LIFE AWAY. I EXPLAINED TO CORPORATE HOW I ALMOST HAD A COUPLE OF ACCIDENTS DUE TO THE EMERGENCY BRAKE LOCKING UP ALMOST CAUSING SOMEONE TO REAR END THE BACK OF MY CAR. WELL EVERYONE THOSE ELECTRICAL ISSUES I AM COMPLAINING ABOUT HAS RECENTLY CAUSED ME TO BE IN A BAD CAR ACCIDENT.
FOR THOSE WHO ARE EXPERIENCING THESE SAME ISSUES WITH YOUR 2016 HONDA CIVICS PLEASE KEEP PRESSING THE ISSUE AND LETTING YOUR VOICES BE HEARD UNTIL HONDA REALIZES THAT THIS IS A MAJOR PROBLEM WITH THESE CARS. I HAVE PROVIDED PICTURES OF THE DAMAGE TO MY CAR THAT RECENTLY TOOK PLACE ON APRIL 27TH, 2017, 3 DAYS AFTER GETTING MY CAR BACK FROM BEING AT THE HONDA DEALERSHIP IN CONCORD, CA. I HAVE A VIDEO POSTED ON YOUTUBE THAT ENTAILS THE ELECTRICAL ISSUES THAT I HAD THE DAY OF MY ACCIDENT. YOU CAN FIND IT UNDER "MY 2016 HONDA CIVIC - CONTINUOUS ELECTRICAL ISSUES." IM TRULY BLESSED THAT THIS ACCIDENT DIDN'T COST ME MY LIFE, MY KIDS LIFE OR THE LIFE OF ANYONE ELSE. HONDA DOES NOT WANT TO TAKE THE RESPONSIBILITY THAT THESE CARS HAVE MAJOR ISSUES WITH THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM.
ON SEPT 16TH, 2016 I EXPERIENCED MY FIRST MAJOR ISSUE WITH THIS HONDA CIVIC AND AT THE TIME I ONLY HAD 13583 MILES ON MY CAR. I WAS LEAVING THE HOUSE THAT MORNING ON MY WAY TO WORK WHEN MY CAR WOULD NOT START. I HAD ALL KIND OF ERROR MESSAGES GOING ACROSS THE DASHBOARD:BRAKE SYSTEM PROBLEM EMISSION PROBLEM, VSA SYSTEM PROBLEM, ANTI-LOCK SYSTEM PROBLEM, EMERGENCY BRAKE SYSTEM PROBLEM, ETC., ETC. I CALLED HONDA IN CONCORD AND TOLD THEM WHAT I WAS EXPERIENCING AND IF THEY CAN HAVE MY TOWED OVER TO THEM. THEY INFORMED ME THAT IF I WANTED MY CAR TO COME TO THEM I WOULD NEED TO USE MY OWN TOW OTHERWISE IF I USE HONDA ROADSIDE THEY WOULD TAKE IT TO THE NEAREST HONDA DEALERSHIP WHICH I THOUGHT WAS A CROCK OF SH*T. I ENDED UP CALLING AAA TO HAVE THEM TOW MY CAR TO HONDA DEALERSHIP IN CONCORD, CA WHERE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE. THEY KEPT MY CAR A LITTLE OVER A WEEK AND TOLD ME THAT THEY FOUND LOW BATTERY VOLTAGE AND WERE GOING TO REPLACE MY BATTERY WITH A BRAND NEW BATTERY. (HELL!! ITS A NEW CAR SHLDN'T IT HAD CAME WITH A NEW BATTERY) WELL A MONTH LATER I TOOK MY CAR BACK TO DEALER AND INFORMED THEM I WAS HAVING ELECTRICAL ISSUES WITH THE WINDOWS, SUNROOF, RADIO WILL NOT CHANGE STATIONS. HONDA TELLS ME THE RADIO IS NOT WORKING CORRECTLY BECAUSE I LEFT THE PLASTIC ON THE INFOTAINMENT SCREEN (SMH!!) THEY REPLACED THE POWER WINDOW MASTER SWITCH & PERFORMED FACTORY CAMPAIGN RECALL FOR THE ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKE & VSA DTC. HONDA TOLD ME THAT MY PROBLEM IS FIXED. (WELL I DEFINITELY DIDN'T THINK SO) IN THE EARLY PART OF NOVEMBER 2016 I HAD MY CAR TOWED TO MEL RAPTON HONDA DEALERSHIP IN SACRAMENTO, CA. I WAS PULLING INTO THE PARKING LOT AT MY JOB WHEN MY PARKING BRAKE AUTOMATICALLY APPLIED ON ITS OWN AND WAS HAVING THE SAME ERROR MESSAGES LIKE I HAD IN SEPTEMBER GOING ACROSS MY DASHBOARD. THIS TIME THEY TELL ME THEY NEED TO REPLACE MY VSA MODULATOR AND THAT IT WAS FAULTY AND THAT WAS CAUSING THE ISSUE. (OK SO HERE WE HAVE A BRAND NEW 2016 HONDA CIVIC & THE DEALERSHIP IS REPLACING ALL THESE DIFFERENT THINGS....I AM LIKE THIS IS A BRAND NEW CAR. WHAT DID YALL DO? INSTALL OLD PARTS INTO A NEW VEHICLE...THE CAR IS NOT EVEN A YEAR OLD AND THEY ALRDY REPLACING NEW PARTS WITH NEW PARTS. WOW THIS IS CRAZY!!) SO I GET MY CAR BACK TO ONLY HAVE THE ISSUES REPEAT THEMSELVES A COUPLE OF WEEKS LATER WHERE I ENDED UP HAVING IT TOWED AGAIN TO MEL RAPTON OF HONDA IN SACRAMENTO, CA. THIS TIME THEY KEPT MY CAR FOR APPROX A WEEK AND TOLD ME THAT THE LO JACK THAT WAS INSTALLED A WEEK AFTER I PURCHASED THE CAR WAS THE ISSUE FOR THE FAULTY BRAKE SYSTEM, VSA, EMERGENCY BRAKE ERROR MESSAGES GOING ACROSS THE DASHBOARD. SO THEY HAD THE PEOPLE WHO INSTALL THE LO JACK TO COME OUT TO SACRAMENTO TO REPLACE IT. WHICH THE PROBLEM STILL NOT FIX. MY CAR WAS BACK IN & OUT THE SHOP A FEW MORE TIMES BEFORE I HAD MY ACCIDENT ON APRIL 27, 2017
APRIL 16, 2017 - EASTER SUNDAY WAS THE LAST TIME MY CAR WAS IN THE SHOP AT HONDA DEALERSHIP IN CONCORD, CA. THAT MORNING OF EASTER SUNDAY I STARTED EXPERIENCING ISSUES WITH MY CAR AS I WAS ON MY WAY HOME FROM THE STORE. MY BRAKE LIGHT CAME ON AND THE RADIO STOP PLAYING AND ALL YOU HEARD WAS DING, DING, DING NOISES COMING FROM THE RADIO. BY THE TIME I PULLED UP IN MY GARAGE THE LIGHTS ON THE DASHBOARD CAME ON WITH ERROR MESSAGES GOING ACROSS: BRAKE SYSTEM PROBLEM EMISSION PROBLEM, VSA SYSTEM PROBLEM, ANTI-LOCK SYSTEM PROBLEM, EMERGENCY BRAKE SYSTEM PROBLEM, ETC. THE FOLLOWING DAY I HAD MY CAR TOWED TO CONCORD HONDA DEALERSHIP. HONDA INFORMED ME THAT I HAD A BAD ALTERNATOR AND THEY NEEDED TO ALSO REPLACE MY BATTERY SENSOR. I PICKED MY CAR UP ON APRIL 24, 2017. WHEN I PICKED UP MY CAR I INFORMED THE PEOPLE IN THE SERVICE DEPT MY CAR HAS NOT BEEN FIXED. JUST BECAUSE I AM A WOMAN DOESN'T MEAN I AM NOT KNOWLEDGEABLE ABOUT CARS AND IT DOESN'T TAKE A CHILD TO FIGURE OUT THAT IF YOUR CONSTANTLY REPLACING THE BATTERY & THE ALTERNATOR BECAUSE SOMETHING KEEPS DRAINING THEM THAT MEANS THEIR IS A SERIOUS ELECTRICAL ISSUE WITH THESE CAR AND NO ONE IS GETTING TO THE BOTTOM OF FINDING OUT WHAT IS CAUSING THIS TO KEEP HAPPENING. YOU DON'T KEEP REPLACING A BATTERY ON A NEW CAR. HONDA WANTS TO IGNORE THE ISSUE BUT THE ISSUE IS NOT GOING AWAY. AT SOME POINT IF HONDA DON'T FIND THE SOLUTION TO THE PROBLEM IT MAY COST SOMEONE THEIR LIFE.
ON APRIL 27, 2017 3 DAYS AFTER PICKING UP MY CAR FROM THE SHOP I WAS ON MY WAY TO WORK AROUND 0530A I STARTED HAVING ISSUES AGAIN. I WAS ON HIGHWAY 4 IN CONCORD HEADING TO SACRAMENTO WHEN MY BRAKE LIGHT CAME ON AND ERROR MESSAGES STARTED FLASHING ON THE DASHBOARD. I WAS IN THE SECOND LANE FROM THE SLOW LANE TRYING TO GET OVER TO THE THIRD LANE WHEN MY STEERING WHEEL LOCKED UP AND I FOUND MYSELF WITH NO BRAKES. EVEN BY ME PUMPING MY BRAKES THE CAR WOULD NOT STOP UNTIL I SLAMMED INTO THE BACK OF A PICK UP TRUCK. MY CAR IS NOT WORTH REPAIRING EVEN IF THE AUTO BODY SHOP REPAIRS THE DAMAGE TO THE CAR. THE CAR IS STILL NOT DRIVABLE. THE CAR HAS MAJOR ELECTRICAL ISSUES THAT NEEDS TO BE FIXED AND EVEN AFTER THAT I STILL WOULD BE TO SCARED TO EVEN DRIVE THE VEHICLE.
