Issue start date: August 2016, Less than a month after purchase. Current date November 2017.
The following issue occurs on the the initial engine start-up after sitting over night. If I turn the car "Off" anytime during the day and restart, the issue doesn't occur.
When the car sits overnight, the back-up camera doesn't activate on the initial start-up for anywhere from 15 to 30 seconds when shifted into reverse; after which time the camera comes on. What appears is a black screen with the yellow guide lines. If I back-up with the black screen still visible and then shift to Drive (the radio skin is now visible) and travel down the highway for about 1/4 mile, the back-up camera "pops ON" for 1 second and then goes back to the radio Skin. The problem has persisted and is GETTING WORSE. The dealership needed video to verify the issue which I gave them (multiples).
Subsequently on separate occasions the dealership 1. Scratched their heads; 2. Couldn't find anything (visual inspection); 3. Rebooted the system 4. Did a software update; 5. Replaced the radio unit (not the screen); 6. Replaced the rear camera. It stills doesn't work and new issues have been added such as the initial start-up screens (such as the disclaimer display and radio skin) do not appear for extended periods of time (over a minute).
The service department has tried to solve this problem but is being governed by the Honda Tech Line who control which procedures to implement and in which order because it's a warranty issue. Needless to say, I made another call today to inform the service department that the last "fix" didn't work either. They'll get back to me after they contact the Tech Line. . . .again. I'll update this until it's fixed.
