The day i bought this car the ac went out. I had to go back to dealer the next morning. I later on learned They just fiddled with it to make it work temporarily. By the next summer ac went out again, this time defrosters didn't work, heater didn't work, ac obviously didn't work. And ive Been dealing with it like this for over 2 years. Honda is not helping at all.

The ac blows hot on drivers side causing the driver to sweat and lose grip of steering wheel. This is a known issue of faulty ac systems in this year of civics.

The ac system on these models have a factory defect. I was driving on the surface streets the windshield became foggy, I could not see traffic in front of me and suddenly stopped in the middle of the road. I got out of the car and cleaned the windshield with the piece of towel. Because the car's ac was not working it could not defogg the windshield. I have contacted Honda, but Honda doesn't repair it. It is a safety issue.

Ac compressor went out after 37,000 miles. Without the ac, it hurts visibility (could not defog the car windows) when raining or living in a high humidity area. This is also a safety issue in hotter climates. Also had problems with rear backup camera not working upon startup intermittently.

The contact owns a 2016 Honda Civic. The contact stated that the vehicle windshield defrost system failed, and caused the contact to be unable to defrost the windshield when driving in inclement weather. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to ide Honda 875 panorama trl S, rochester, NY 14625 phone number (585) 586-2820 where it was diagnosed that the air conditioner compressor failed due to a defective condenser that was allowing the freon to escape. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted. The failure mileage was 65,000.

Air conditioning condenser was replaced under recall Jan. 2019. Ac stopped working by June, 2020. Condenser needed to be replaced again, but was on back-order. Over 5 weeks later, condenser was replaced in August 2020, but dealer reported compressor was leaking and needed to be replaced, for about $1,200. Honda refuses to cover more than 30% of that cost, according to both a regional representative and a Honda of America representative. The compressor is on back-order, indicating that a high number of compressors are failing. All the above work and diagnosis were performed by Honda dealer the automaster, shelburne, vt. The car has under 33,000 miles and is less than 4 years old. I'm the original owner. There appears to be a class action for this issue, initiated in California, case 2:19-cv-10537, filed Dec. 2019, us district court for central district of California. Having no ac is a safety issue in at least two ways: It's dangerous to drive in a hot car, and a fogged windshield obstructing driver's vision can't be cleared without ac. Honda should cover the full cost of correcting these safety issues.

Small rock hit lower driver side of windshield and made a very small nick about 6 months ago. I drove home from work Friday and upon getting my car ready Sunday evening for work the next day we noticed a crack. I can only assume this initiated where that rock hit and after googling the issue I realize I'm not alone in this. The windshield of the Honda 2016 and newer is garbage. It is weak and unsafe. That small crack from Sunday has now reached halfway across the windshield and I cannot drive my car until it is fixed on Wednesday afternoon for fear of it caving in. Why hasn't Honda addressed this issue? it's been four years of numerous complaints! the crack is growing at an incredibly and terrifying rate that it is completely unsafe. The first picture was at 7am, the second at 5pm, and the third at 9:30pm

I was driving down interstate 30 at 70 mph when I heard a large explosion. I pulled off of the interstate to check my tires and finally realized the sunroof exploded. It was not raining, there was not a dump truck in front of me, I was not on my phone or distracted, I was paying close attention to the road and the sunroof exploded out of the blue. There was no point of impact below the glass insert, but the entire sunroof was shattered into a million pieces.

I purchased a 2016 Honda Civic for my son in 2016. I received a notice about ac problems this year. I contacted my son and asked him if he had problems with the A/C. he reported that it doesn't blow very much air and the air never gets cold. So I had him take to dealership. He was told that the recall for A/C affected only one part of the unit which they could fix under no cost...but they said that there was a huge hole in the air compressor and this was not covered. They quoted over $2,000 to replace air compressor. I found this hard to believe and researched to find out what causes a hole in the compressor that makes it beyond repair and the only information I could find were others having the same problem with 2016 Honda Civic faulty air compressors. Again when I tested it myself, it was not blowing cold air and sometimes not blowing air at all. Since I purchased vehicle, it seems like system was not fully capable of defrosting windows in front and back and figured the design was bad.

Ac expansion valve failed prematurely (before 50,000 mi) but outside of factory warranty. Causes ac to be inoperative and windows to fog up and impair visibility, especially in very humid weather. It is also a safety issue since ambient temperatures in tx and the South can easily reach 100+ before any effects of the sun or humidity.

Fuel is leaking into the oil. The dealer just suggested changing the oil more often. I know this is a defect but what can I do? the electrical system is not reliable....one day my passenger window would not work from my control on the driver's side. Finally it did--this was when parked. They replaced once and then "updated" the infotainment system once because of very disruptive things that happen on the screen while driving. Once (this was parked) it totally locked up my iphone so that I could not use it even after I shut the car off (I was parked and had turned the car on ) and rebooted my phone! once I got locked out of my car after opening the trunk and closing it...my fob would not work and when I used the key, it set off the alarm, flashed the lights and reset all my personal settings. Sometimes the steering wheel radio controls lock up and don't work. Many times the radio screen goes black when I am driving and not touching it. One time it started beeping and would not stop....very dangerous as I try to drive with the beeping. And, my windshield wipers are very sporadic....does not matter if I try resetting them to auto....when it is not raining they go crazy, when it is raining they stop....sometimes they work, sometimes they don't. I have to spend too much time trying to get the car systems to work while driving that this is as dangerous as can be. The electrical system of this car is a lemon...and has been from the start. I have at most about 9,000 miles on this car but started noticing glitches long before 6,000. This is the top of the line car in this model.

The ac compressor and condenser are both leaking. One dealership tried to tell me they were leaking because a rock hit it and caused the damage, and it costs $600 to fix. But upon proper diagnosis from another dealership, they did tell me both the compressor and condenser are leaking, and it was not caused by road hazard damage. These products have known issues that people have listed online. My car is out of warranty, so the dealership had to file a claim through good will. They said they were willing to pay 50/50, which leaves me to pay $842 before taxes to get this issue fixed. There needs to be a better solution. This is unsafe that all of these cars having leaking condensers and compressors and it is a scam to have the customer pay anything to fix an issue like this. This is extremely unsafe because when it is hot weather or raining and then it gets cold the windshield fogs up and doesn't allow you to see without having the air on. The ac helps to eliminate any visibility issues when the weather changes. Currently my windshield keeps fogging up due to not having the ac, especially when another car is coming towards me with their headlights, my windshield blinds me. This is extremely unsafe and will cause an accident. If someone can please help me by looking into this issue and possible posting a safety recall on these products, I would truly appreciate it. I already spoke to corporate Honda and they don't seem to care and they say that they don't put out their own recalls. But this is a serious issue that is not okay, and I should not have to pay anything to have a faulty system fixed, when I bought the car this way. I noticed this issue after the car was already out of warranty, it didn't happen on one specific day, it is an ongoing issue.

The vehicle was parked in a private lot directly outside my place of employment. I work in a remote location with little to no traffic except for employees entering/leaving the building. It was late in the evening, I auto-started the car cause it had been raining earlier in the day, went outside, entered the vehicle, shut the door, and immediately I heard glass falling. I looked in the back seat and saw the rear windshield had spontaneously shattered from edge to edge, all parts of the glass was broken into small shards. It scared me cause the glass was fine in the morning. I looked around and no objects were present to draw a conclusion that the window had been struck. Called the police, but it wasn't an emergency so they did not come to take a report. The vehicle is a lease with warranty, so I opened a case to have the damage covered as a defect in the glass based on the complaints made from others who experienced similar losses. Honda refused to honor the warranty. They wouldn't provide any written statement, I was only told on the phone that management doesn't believe there's any defects in the glass. I asked for the glass to be tested and this was refused by Honda as well. I requested a transcript of the conversation and was told I would need to send them a subpoena. It is my opinion that unless an official Agency such as the NHTSA intervenes on behalf of consumers, then Honda has little to no concern for the safety of it's customers. For this reason, I am sharing my experience in the hope that Honda will be made to take accountability for misleading and endangering the welfare of others.

I was driving at approximately 65 mph on the highway. I heard a large bang sound looked in my review and saw a dark flat object passing. This object was a center portion of the sunroof glass. I did not hit any bumps or have anything fall or strike the vehicle. Weather was 55F and sunny. Very few glass pieces fell onto the interior visor and the glass still intact appears to be pushed up slightly indicating that nothing struck the glass to push debris down.

I was driving to work around 8:20 am on 8 Jan 2018 when my sunroof exploded in my 2016 Honda Civic. The outside temperature was 43 degrees (the temperature was not below freezing the night before). I was traveling approximately 60 mph and there was no traffic immediately around me. I did not hear anything hit the car and there was no warning that the sunroof was about to explode (I.e., vibration, cracking sounds). The glass, for the most part, blew out of the car, but there was some that fell into the car on top of me. The sound was similar to a gunshot -- quite startling. I was able to safely pull over and called the Honda dealership.
