The story is that the car companies went "green" using soy based insulation on the wiring. Which the mice love to eat. They ate the wire to my AC. The dealer said it wasn't covered and that I needed a new $700 AC unit. I looked myself and there was enough wire to splice it, which I did. Otherwise it was a great car.

My car was running perfect, only had it 2.5 yrs, check emissions light went on, took it to the dealer, come to find out rodents had eaten my wiring, in the meantime that cost me over 500.00 dollars, then they called me and said a rodent caused my computer to go out another 500.00 dollars +, two thousand for a new wiring harness, I had to rely on my insurance company to pay the rest, now my insurance will have a claim and raise my premium. I am furious, Matt Casstrucci auto mall claims they know nothing about a lawsuit filed against Honda for this reason, but there are complaints after complaints for this exact reason. My neighbor had the exact same problem with her 2012 Honda Civic and all of this falls on the consumer because Honda wants to save a buck. I will continue to have this problem as long as I own this vehicle....I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER HONDA AGAIN. FORD OR GM HAS MY MONEY!!!!

soybean wires chewed

I bought this car brand new, 6 months in, check emissions light goes off. I took it to Honda and they said it was because rodents/squirrel may have chewed it up. Great. The work cost $400 at dealership but talked it down to $300. The dealer fixed it, and a few months later, I decided to have my car checked out before a long trip. Sure enough they found the same problem. They suggested I fix it, and buy rodent tape to prevent this from occurring. All I have to do is buy the tape each year. My gripe about all this... Honda come on, why would you sell a vehicle made out of soybean wires?! I've 3 other Honda vehicles that do not have this problem at all. Running great. This new one has been a nonstop headache. I regret buying a Honda. Can't believe I said this. I would expect high quality/reliablity but now i'm reconsidering to buy Honda again. Especially since Honda wont cover it under warranty. I don't have $400 to spend each time, along w/ traps to set at my work parking lot, etc.
