My friend and I were accelerating to make a green light, but us and the car in front of us had to stop. I hit the brakes but the car kept accelerating. It was really close to an accident. I took it into the Honda dealer I bought it from and they claimed it was just the mats. I showed them my pedal is 2 inches away from the mat and curves in at the top so that's not possible but they ignored it. The problem went away.
Now it's fall again and I think when the vehicle is cold (4*C here) today it happened THREE times. And intensely! Before today, I could feel lag, like if I am accelerating hard and stop it continues for a full 0.5-1 second, but that was sort of livable. Today was extreme. I took it into another Honda dealer and I'm really hoping they actually address the issue.
