I changed my oil and oil filter about a month ago. Soon after I noticed, for the first time, a few drops of oil. I diagnosed the problem. Oil seems to be leaking around the oil filter seal. I can actually hear the pressure leaking from the seal. I changed the oil again thinking that getting a Honda oil filter might be the solution. After installation, I can still hear the leak. After driving it 20 or so miles I have more oil on the ground.
Took the vehicle to the dealership to check out the possible seepage/leak of rear main seal on 11/12/13. Mileage on vehicle was only 2,834. Dealership advised there was no leak/seepage and appears to be residual oil from assembly. Customer will continue to put additional mileage on vehicle to see if after more miles are driven, the seepage/leak continues. Totally disgusted with this manufacturer.
I took my Honda Civic in for Mid-Level Service and found out my new car had an oil leak. Die was added to the oil and I was instructed to bring car back in two weeks later.
Two weeks later, diagnosed as a cracked motor block.
New block was ordered by dealership and engine replaced, good thing I had an extended warranty or I would not have had a car to drive for a couple of days.
Also like to add, I bought the car new in May of 2013, I am the first owner.
