Wife and I hit a deer in my 2012Honda Civic LX. Significant damage, total repair cost more than $4000. The impact bent the bracket that holds the airbag sensor completely backwards and into the sensor itself, which then cracked. Airbag never deployed. And now, post repair, the airbag light and warning is on constantly. My model Civic wasn't included in the airbag recalls, but after this I'm thinking Honda's airbag problems go beyond those already recalled.
I am so disappointed in Honda Canada. We have contacted them over and over again and they said our insurance will look into it. Our insurance says it is up to Honda. We will NEVER buy another Honda vehicle if this is the problem that will be our future out coming. The air bags were recalled. They were fixed by the dealership. Now because they didn’t deploy I have injuries to deal with that could end up to be permanent injuries I will have to live with for the rest of my life. With all that has gone on, I would not refer a Honda to anyone.
Well when I got my 2012 civic Si sedan back in July of 2014 the car ran perfect never gave me problems
But one thing that I always noticed was the message I would get from time to time that said passenger air bag off especially when my girlfriend sits in the passenger seat or my mom because I usually drive alone or with them. and in my girlfriends 2012 civic Si coupe it also would show the same message when we drove and either I was in the passenger seat or she was. but from time to time the light would come on in both cars even in my brothers car so I never paid mind. after I took to Honda and said it was fine and plus there cars showed the same message so I was like maybe it's not that big of a deal. but than a couple of weeks ago going out I got into an accident a block away from my house litterally around the corner a guy in a big SUV pulled out in front of me and I smashed into the back of his expedition doing 40 besides coming out sore and my finger hurting a bit i feel fine but what upset me is that even tho I smashed into the SUV full force my air bag never deployed and after the wreck a light turned on saying check airbag system. but I couldn't do anything because my car was declared totaled but my mother and I did get a little sore from the accident and I hit my knee but it upset me how my airbag did not deploy ..:: my older brother also went through the same situation where someone pulled out in front of him and on impact his airbag deployed he has the same car as me 2012 civic Si sedan but in black so I don't get he hit a smaller car than I did he was going like 30 miles per hour he tried to brake and avoid and his air bag deployed his car wasn't even totaled. his car was fine just the bumper and the fender and I just straight smashed into the guy doing like 45-50 and didn't even have time to brake why didn't it deploy on my car. my whole front was gone Frame was bent and air bags did not deploy the moment of impact what should I do ?
I was in a car accident on Sept 7, 2013. Was in a lot of traffic and was at a complete stop. A pickup truck was in front of me and the guy behind me never put his brakes on until it was too late. He hit me going 45 mph and my car was a complete loss. My airbags never deployed on impact . . non of them. My front end went underneath the truck in front of me as I was hit from behind.
I was hurt in the accident and just this past week, I had surgery from the accident. I had 2 herniated discs in my neck because of it and am out of commission for approximately 8 weeks. I have seen on the news about the recalls and was just wondering if this could be a part of the problem also.
