I bought the car used in June 2014.The dealer put new tires and brakes on the car.At 55,000 miles, the rear tires were badly worn on the inside and making noise.I replaced the rear tires and aligned them. The rear tires wore out on the inside by 65000, miles.I replaced the rear tires again and now at 8400 miles the rear tires need replaced again.I did some checking with alignment shops and they told me there is too much camber on the rear tires and that it is not adjustable. They say there was a recall for 2006 to 2008 civics but they found that the problem extends to the 2014 civics.
I investigated this problem and found that the recalled civics get a redesigned rear upper control arm to take out .75 degrees camber out of the rear tires. The alignment shop said that would fix my problem.
I can replace the control arms myself at a cost of just over $200.00 and the alignment shop said the will adjust the suspension for $59.00.
