I have been driving Hondas since I bought my first one in 1980 (Civic 1300FE hatchback) and have been extremely satisfied with every one until I bought this one. The car still runs well and I have had minimal problems with it until recently. For some reason all of the window and windshield rubber/ plastic has deteriorated and is falling off, piece by piece. The windshield seal is completely gone (not sure what is holding it in place) and now each of the windows seals are slowly falling off. I have never seen any of my other Hondas have this kind of problem and I generally keep them for a long time. I was actually checking this site to see if there was a recall because I think it is bad enough for them to replace it. The rubber/ plastic should last for the life of the car easily, in my humble opinion. My windshield isn't leaking yet so, I guess I will delay repairing it until it actually does. Not sure what that will cost or if the windows are worth fixing either. Just posting to let others know they are not alone.
My windshield molding began to fly off while I was driving. In just a short time, all of it was off and my car looked terrible. I am glad though that my windshield was not leaking! I took it to a glass shop and of course they had to order genuine parts from Honda and it only took about an hour to replace it but at a cost of $320. I really should have stayed with Chevy.
The weather stripping sealing the windshield completely disintegrated and came off the car. Water leaks in when it rains now. Honda dealer offered no solution and suggested no fix. Finally this year we used silicone caulking to seal the window. The car looks like a giant aquarium, and belongs at the bottom of the ocean. Can't wait to finally dump this Honda piece of junk and buy Toyota again.
