Transmission starting to slip and fail at just over 55,000 miles. I bought this car new in 2010. I drive the car gently simply to work and back. It does get it's fair share of stop and go traffic, but I would expect any automatic transmission to last longer than 50K miles. Of course, now that the warranty has just ended, I am stating to have issues.
This is my SECOND Honda to have automatic transmission issues, the other being my 2001 Accord V-6 EX. That car I paid $30K new, and had to replace the transmission twice at great cost!
Something is obviously wrong with the quality AND/OR the design of the automatic transmissions from 2001 and on. My experience and research show that the failure rates are much too high.
I suggest that customers get manual transmissions if they want to stick with the Honda brand.
