Honda finally replaced the passenger side takata airbag on 1/18/2018 but not the driver's side" I have been hit in the rear by 2 cars since buying this car in 2010. No airbag inflated but every time I drive this car I am terrified of the airbag situation. Why aren't they replacing the driver side airbag too" my anxiety grows every time I have to drive somewhere.
Good evening, and to whom it may concern, I've been trying to correct the air bag recall since August 2016. I've contacted and visited the following dealership three times since I was notified of this recall: Bryan Honda 4104 raeford rd. Fayetteville, nc 28304 every time I visited the dealership, I was unable to get my vehicle serviced. The first time, the excuse from the dealership was that they didn't have the necessary parts and that I would have to come back after they received it. The second time, the excuse was that they didn't know they were supposed to order the part, so the part didn't get there. The third time, the excuse was that they never got the appointment or the notification to order parts, and they never performed the repair. I don't know what the laws are regarding recall actions, but aren't dealerships required to perform the repairs so that the vehicles are safe to operate? the only reason I haven't been able to continue to try to get this issue resolved is because I'm in the army and was deployed to a combat zone, and couldn't get my car serviced. Now that I'm back state side, I would really like this repair to happen, but the manufacturer is not cooperating. I've also called the corporate office, but haven't had any luck in scheduling an appointment. I need to ship my car to Hawaii, because I am on assignment to that state. I can't ship my car until all open recalls are resolved on my vehicle, but I can't get it done. If there is anything you can do to help me, it would be very much appreciated. Thank you for your time.

Honda initiated this recall on May 23, 2016 (almost a year now) and they still dont have a solution. Details of the recall: May 23,2016 manufacturer recall number: KA5 NHTSA recall number: 16V-346 recall status recall: Incomplete, remedy not yet available and they advise not to have someone sit in front seat until recall is complete. That means no one can sit in passenger seat of my car indefinitely !!! Honda should work on this fast and find a solution for the recall at the earliest. But clearly they are not working on it.

"takata recall" I replied to the first letter on 7/22/2016, but I'm still waiting for the dealer to contact me to replace the parts. Sometimes the airbag light will turned on and off by itself apparently without any reason.
Takata recall manufacturer has failed to provide correct documentation on the remedy. The recall notice, updated on Jan 14, 2017, asserts that the remedy parts will become available in late summer/fall 2016, but the remedy is not yet available. Clearly this is false and must be corrected.
Takata recall-on May 24, 2016, on an unusual hot and humid day on the lower Maryland shore, I watched my 17 year old daughter pull into a parking space - sidewalk in front of the space. I watched the car come to a stop and within seconds I watched the car jump onto the sidewalk. As I walked over to the car I saw that the airbags had deployed. The side, curtain airbags. I opened the car door, the car full of dust, my daughter crying and badly bruised and had to be taken to the hospital. She does not know what happened, nor do I. as a result of that incident, the car was totaled. The payoff did not cover the amount of the financing and my insurance company dropped our good driver rate, flagged my daughter and increased my insurance by $100 a month. At the time I called Honda and explained what happened, I gave them the VIN number but was told there was no recall and what was I looking for. Now eight months later the truth has come out.
Takata recall. I'm afraid to drive my car. Honda promised to make it safe again more than 6-months ago and they still have not. In the meantime I can't even drive my car without extreme anxiety about my air bags killing me or my wife.
