Wipers began acting up on vehicle around 40k miles. Dealt with it for awhile until one day, they would not turn off. Rain stopped, turned wipers off using the control yet they kept on going, scraping and screeching on the now-dry windshield. Took it in to dealer who stated it could be the control (cheap fix) or the wiper motor (big fix). Said they wouldn't know for sure until they fixed the control (around $100) to see if that solved the problem. The motor would be more expensive (maybe $200? don't remember). I opted to fix the motor and that seemed to have done the trick. Stupidly, I didn't bring it in until after the factory warranty expired, so I covered the cost. Otherwise, the factory warranty would've taken care of that. Honda corp. didn't want to hear it, either - I was about 600-700 miles out of warranty; they told me to kindly go scratch. Had an '06 Civic with 140,000 miles on it and never had a problem with the wipers. This is my 3rd and last Honda.
