Transmission extremely rough and clunky. Replaced transmission fluid filter and fluid, resolved temporarily, then problem returned quickly. Happened early on in life of car.
With an 8000rpm redline, any 8thgen Civic Si especially used ones for sale have been driven aggressively meaning its synchronizers are probably worn. This creates rough shifting at low engine speeds/daily driving especially in the infamous 1st-2nd and 2nd-3rd gears. Synchronizers and other transmission related parts of this chassis will definitely need to be replaced if ownership is intended in the long run.
My 2009 Civic needs a new transmission at only 75k miles. Honda will say anything to get away with this and its NOT right! Honda boasts how they're so reliable, yet many of us have the same failures. This is my only vehicle, somewhat newer model and I have to pay for a new transmission and a rental car for over a week?
I've owned several Pontiacs and only had transmission problems around 280k miles!!! This is a slap in the face since Honda has recalled my sun-visors and paint but not what makes the car drive! Never will i buy a Honda again, I'll buy a Tesla, they might have kinks to work out but at least they address the issue, while not polluting the environment!!!!
when i put the vitesse to d position and try to accelerate,the transmission goes from level to level but with sound and you can feel it ie not smoothly//and sometimes the car shakes a little ///i took it to the Honda dealer they said this is normal because the computer is shifting the vitesse and some times you feel it not smoothly shifted
