The contact owns a 2008 Honda Civic. The contact stated that she owned a 2006 Honda Civic and had constant issues with the rack and pinion and power steering. She took the vehicle to the dealer and they replaced the entire part of the steering system containing the rack and pinion. A month and a half later, the failure recurred and she decided to trade the 2006 in for a 2008, in hopes that the failure would be resolved. Two months later, at 3,500 miles, the power steering was leaking just like the 2006 Honda Civic. The parts were replaced on the 2008. The dealer stated that there was a three week back order for this particular part that keeps failing. The failure mileage was 3,500. Updated 01/29/09. Updated 01/30/09.
