Throughout the last couple of years, I noticed that the oil in my car, when draining out during an oil change, would get lower and lower. It got to the point that the oil life indicator was only at 60% but the actual oil in my car was extremely low. The only reason I noticed there was a problem with the oil consumption was because there was a weird rattling noise coming from my car. I didn't think that my oil was the problem, since there was no light indicator telling me that my oil was low and my oil life indicator was only at 60%. I finally decided to check the dip stick and it barely or didn't have oil on it. I quickly added oil. After adding more oil the rattling noise calms down, but its still there. Now every other month, I find myself checking my oil and when necessary, add more oil.
I'm very appalled that Honda, knowing there's a problem and still doesn't do anything about it or figure out how to stop this. Honda's are great cars!!! Never had a problem with my Honda ever since I bought it, until now. I get it that normal wear and tear or every day use would cause the oil to consume but not that drastically!! Now my engine is all messed up, since it was being driven with very low oil in the streets and freeways in Los Angeles, I probably have burned up headers and probably my pistons are all corroded because no oil was going through. All that heat, more than likely, wore them out and of course, now my engine is going through the domino effect. I may need to replace my engine.
Yes, I performed regular oil changes and yes every 3k. But I was battling an oil problem without even knowing there was a problem to begin with. Even had a mechanic look at it and the only thing he did was changed my PVC valve. Didn't really do much.
Come on Honda, fix them problem!!!
