The roof is completely white because of the fading and cracking. The hood and fenders have extreme crows feet and are starting to look more white than dark blue. I have been dealing with the dealership and the best they can do is cover 25 percent, my cost would be $1800! Honda is covering some vehicles with the same problem and color but not mine?? I called honda and all they say is that my vin is not in the paint coverage. Its a shame what they are doing and it has to stop

Over a year ago I noticed a slight amount of crows feet on the front end of my 08 Civic. It's always been garaged. I car wash it regularly, but never thought much about the slight crows feet. Since I first noticed the problem I've been in and out of hospitals and didn't much pay attention. I decided to have the car detailed and the tech at the place called my attention to the hood. When looking closer I could see the entire hood had deep crows feet and they're spreading up. I've seen hundreds of complaints on line saying Honda service gives excuses of environment, sun, birds and wear and tear. My Honda has 39,000 miles and the problem started when it had 25,000 miles. I'm bringing the car to Honda today, but already know what they'll probably say in view of all the frustration expressed on line. Shame on you Honda for your response to faulty cheap paint jobs that have caused massive problems for us common folk.

2008 Honda Civic Coupe great car with a major complaint that Honda has swept under the rug. Paint failure with clear coat. I am a coatings chemist with 30+ years in industrial coatings for wood applications and it is apparent that this clear coat on my vehicle has started to break down. Visual cracking and crows feet are all over the hood. Dealers will not accept complaints because of warranty is past the 3 yr period but this is and will progress to clear coat failure across the surface. This is not bird droppings or other off the cuff offerings of reasons of failure rather it is a problem with paint/ hardner mix during application. The lack of cross linking or excessive hardner has caused the film to shatter causing stress cracks and fracturing. I feel Honda headquarters in Japan is blocked from knowing the problems that are occurring with their products. These are well engineered cars whose reputation is being damaged by local manufacturing practices and then not accepting responsibility or liability of their actions. I also feel that Honda Americas is not reporting this to headquarters which in turn will cause loss of loyal customer base. People don't expect paint failure within 3 years of a major purchase and refusal to help the customer with a legitimate complaint. This issue is ongoing and locally owned and will cause me and other customers not to buy their product again.
