I purchased this vehicle from my late Aunt. I purchased from her when it was under 30000 miles which meant under the warranty. I have since had to get multiple tire changes and alignments when the latest mechanic told me there is nothing wrong with the alignment. He looked it up online and found out that there was a "service bulletin" saying that some Civics had this problem and Honda was working with the customers to help fix it and help pay for some of the tire cost. I brought this to the attention of our local Honda dealer and he said he could do nothing for me. Would not even be able to help me in the direction of who to talk to. I searched and found a number for Honda. I talked to Honda and they told me it is necessary to have my local dealer do a diagnostics on it to confirm this problem. The local dealer told me it would be free of charge and when I came to pick it up he told me there was a fee of $50 for work done. We argued back and forth as to him saying that or not ending in me still owing the bill til finally the manager decided to wave it. They did find out that the car had the original rear upper control arms and needs the new ones. Honda finally called me back today to let me know that they will NOT be helping me in the cost of fixing this problem. They stated that since the car is not under warranty anymore, I am not the original owner, and I don't get my car serviced at the local dealer they would not be willing to help. Taking into full consideration that the fact is this problem has been there since the car was made. That did not matter to Honda. They said that they can't make every customer happy. When you have a problem with the car since it was made I don't care how old the car is, you fix it. It is not up to debate that I did something to this car to make it this way. Not to mention to make me get another diagnostic test after I already got one, just to come back and tell me they don't want to help out. Was that there way of trying to get a little more money out of me before they screw me? If they do not end up fixing this problem I will never but Honda again and will yell to the ends of the earth of my problem with Honda in hopes that other people never but a Honda vehicle again. I am a father of three, one being an infant, and this expense is going to be a hard one to afford.
