I bought the car with a cruise control button that wouldn't stay depressed. I had to purchase new steering wheel switches online and when they arrived, the plastic buttons were for a different model (coupe vs sedan). I used my old buttons and housing but switched out the guts and it worked. Took me a while to figure out, and I think the switch cost me about $60 online. It took me about 3 hours to figure everything out and fix the issue.
I drive this car every day and use cruise control on my trip to keep me to the speed limit.
Without warning the cruise control button stopped working.
(I had a 2003 Honda Accord that did the same thing and did not fix it because of the expense. Lived with it for several years, by putting a toothpick in space to hold it down..)
I want to sell car to a student and would like this fixed.
I was very upset when I learned that my cruise control was not working the bottom wont stay press, I did not use it very much only when I was driving on freeways to save gas. I do not remember how much would it cost to repair at the dealer but it was very expensive, and I felt it was not fair that it did not last for a long time, especially with my car that I did not use the cruise control very often, and I really take good care of my car.
Not sure if it's the heat, or if it's because i kept it depressed usually, or if it's just faulty. Dealership says it'll be unreasonably expensive to replace because they need to replace the whole module and tear apart the steering wheel.
Replacing the button is covered under extended warranty, but I still have to pay $100 deductible for it first.
I've had a myriad of issues with this car starting 2010/2011--they are mostly the same issues I see everyone else complaining about: cruise control switch won't stay down, visor broke, door handle actuator had to be replaced, paint is cracking on the hood and has completely worn off in large spots on the top and trunk.
This car is well taken care of, lower mileage than it even should be--it was kept in a garage and driven very occasionally while I was overseas for a year. It is ridiculous I'm having problems like this already when I bought the car brand new a few years ago.
