my third entry about this car and upon reading the cracked engine block troubles, I am still feeling pretty lucky.
the gear shift knob cracked. I noticed early on that the gear shift knob had a hairline crack. I didn't replace it until the knob looked like sidewalk cracks. nothing ever happened to it. no one ever hit it with a hammer or anything. the dealer said he had never seen anything like it...
another $40...well hey, at least the new gear shifter looks fancy like the latest set of sun visors..
Update from Feb 3, 2014: Update 3Feb2014:
I bought a new gear shift knob and within a year the new one was cracking. Seriously the weirdest problem I have ever seen with a car.
