I had received three different recall notices for the passenger side airbag inflator (possible) defect. My srs air bag light continuously illuminates. I was not really concerned since I have not had any passengers since inheriting the car from my father. I took the vehicle to an authorized dealer with prior approval for service. Shortly after service began service rep displayed two cabin air filters needing replacement - which I agreed to replace. When paying for my service the service rep showed me another recall (which I have not received) for the drivers' side seat belt recoil mechanism. So when I got my vehicle back I still have a constant seat belt light on. The vehicle can be fixed free of charge but the dealer states I have to leave the car overnight - and the dealer is 25 mi away. When I got home I pulled the cover off of the driver's side seat belt and it is definitely marked dangerous, and explosive.

When I returned from my deployment, my (now) ex-husband informed me that there was "some weird light on" on my dashboard. I chekced the owner's manual, and it said that there was a problem with the airbags & seatbelts.

So, I took it into the dealership and they informed me that the SRS unit is defective, my warranty is out, and it's gonna cost me $570 to replace. They told me that if I didn't replace it, that the airbags and seatbelts might not work if I got into an accident.

I'd just finished paying $600 for my 50,000 mile tune up, tire rotation, oil change, etc... My broke little military self couldn't (and still can't) afford to replace a part that, by all means, shouldn't have broken down to begin with! The best part? It (conveniently) broke down right AFTER my warranty expired.

Apparently, the SRS unit tends to break down in several Honda models. I've been researching the problem online, and have found several complaints in Civics, Accords, CR-Vs, and now the Oddessy... if this is such a major problem (because defective airbags and seatbelts DOES constitute a MAJOR problem), why doesn't Honda FIX IT?!?!
