Hey guys, so a couple years back I had an oil leak on my Civic. I noticed that some other people had the same problem. The oil leaked and ate up my timing belt because the leak was under the timing belt cover, so replacing the timing belt and fixing the leak together cost a thousand dollars.

But I just thought I'd mention that the oil leak happened after many years of abusing the car. I raced it all the time, I didn't keep up with maintenance, I waited 6000 miles between each oil change, and the oil leak was the only problem I had, and it never happened again. In fact, the car now has 160000 miles on it and it still runs like its brand new, cold a/c and everything. If you ask me I'd say this is one of the best cars you can buy.

I bought my car brand new and it has been leaking oil ever since!! At my first oil change, the service guy told me that my car had oil all over the underbody and stated that something must have been loose under there but that he cleaned it up and tightened. Next oil change and every one since then, same story. Every time I take it in they tell me a different reason (e. g. sending unit, after market filter, oil pan, etc.) that it's leaking and claim to fix the problem. Within the last 3 months I decided to quit messing with the middle man and started dealing with American Motor Honda Company regarding this situation. They assigned me to Ed, a case manager who I played phone tag with for 2 weeks and finally I gave up on. I just recently re-opened my case and specifically requested NOT to have the same case manager, and guess who I ended up with... ED! I called him last week after I took my car in yet again for the leak and he basically told me that he actually believed that each time my car was serviced it was indeed a different problem. Bullshit! Then he proceeded to ask me if I had ever seen the underside of my car, I told him that I didn't have to see it to know that the leak that I'm having now is the same leak I've had since day one! Needless to say... I have yet to hear from my case manager!!

At my very first oil change (at 3 months after my car was manufactured)the technician noticed an oil leak. Now two years later I am still dealing with the same issue. Every 3,000 mi when I get my oil changed, the problem is claimed to be repaired, only to find further accumulation of oil spots on my driveway and garage floor! It makes me crazy.
