Just wanted to point out the transmission may break down over time. According to many forums, this is not a rare thing to occur.

I just want to avoid spending lots of money on something that Honda knows for certain.

Although since receiving the car (140,000 miles), I had to manually put a key into the gear box to get it out of park. A month later when trying to reverse, the gearbox stuck. I pulled. The shifter moved up and down unable to catch into any gear. The car was towed.
