CarComplaints.com Notes: Yes, the Honda Civic receives a lot of complaints because so many were sold. And sure, car parts only last so long and things eventually break. But it's never good to see this many transmission complaints, especially when the average mileage at failure is just north of 100,000 miles.
Especially when you consider that it's predecessor also has a nasty history with transmission complaints.

Was going to lunch break and my car broke down out of nowhere. It would start... and then die once the rpm's fell below 1,000. Had to drive the car home while revving/braking at the sametime. What a disappointment considering its a Honda...and only had 85,000 at the time. Now its at 88,000 and my front left strut is toast. Car also makes a lot of clunking noises from front suspension and goes out of alignment. Dangerous to drive and would never buy another Honda again.
