CarComplaints.com Notes: Yes, the Honda Civic receives a lot of complaints because so many were sold. And sure, car parts only last so long and things eventually break. But it's never good to see this many transmission complaints, especially when the average mileage at failure is just north of 100,000 miles.
Especially when you consider that it's predecessor also has a nasty history with transmission complaints.

Took car in for a couple of recalls and when I picked up the car the rod bearing slowly but surely started to get worse. Never heard a single noise prior to dealership taking possession of my car. Maybe it was just time for it or maybe it was related to the stealership visit. No way to prove it. I have serviced this vehicle from day one and have never had a problem with her. Always used Honda oil filters and the dealers recommended oil. I was hoping to get 300,000 miles out of her but guess that's not going to happen! Just makes me wonder if I am alone in this situation. I have always bragged up my Honda and now I am eating crow,
