The vehicle was recalled for a faulty ignition switch. The vehicles after market alarm had to be disconnected in order for the recall to be performed. After the repair, the dealer charged the consumer to have the alarm reconnected. The consumer requested reimbursement but was denied.

Consumer received a recall notice regarding a defective ignition switch, when consumer arrived at the dealership, she was informed there would be a charge to reconnect the after market remote starter on the vehicle, or the started would be left disconnected, consumer took the vehicle to another dealer and was assured there would be no charge.
Consumer took the vehicle to have the ignition switch recall (02V120000) repaired and was charged a fee for rewiring an after market product. Consumer called american Honda who informed consumer that they do not pay for labor costs or third party alarm systems. Consumer seeks assistance for reimbursement.
