Driving behind a van at approximately 40mph, vehicle in front swerved to avoid hitting garage. When consumer realized what was going on slammed on brakes and car skidded about 20 feet after brakes locked up, resulting in a crash. Upon impact, driver's side air bag did not deploy. Contacted dealer.
Consumer was driving at any speed, applied brakes, and vehicle began to shake hard until it made a complete stop. Vehicle was serviced approximately 5 times for the same problem in August, 97 and could not find problem. In September, 97 dealership turned the rotors, and in April, 98 all four rotors and four sets of brakes were replaced, and wheel alignment done. In April, 99 rotors turned again. Vehicle was taken to a Honda specialist, turned rotors, replaced brakes and vibration had stopped.
When normal pressure is applied to brakes on a lightly wet road, the ABS pulsed, and the car skidded about 30 feet and collided into the rear end of another vehicle.
