There is a smell similar to that of mentholated spirit that emanates from the a/c. This smell is worst when driving when rain falls. This problem developed when my car was just 7 months and the local Honda dealer cannot identify the cause or resolve it and furthermore always a different excuse each time I take it in and they said I have to take back my vehicle with this problem.
My car is now 21 months and doing 10,000 km. It is difficult to be comfortable driving when this happens because it burns my eyes and throat and cause my daughter allergies to act up.
Local Honda dealer claim they have done test on the a/c but they don't have a professional auto a/c department.
They also claim that since the initial complaint they have been in touch with Honda International and they have been advising them on what test to do. This I certainly don't believe because it is 14 months of stress, frustration and inconvenience and I just cannot expect that Honda International will let this be prolonged.
