On Saturday, November 9, I was driving on Highway 17 near Flagstaff Arizona going the speed limit normal driving conditions when my engine ceased to operate started making a high-pitched noise and malfunctioned. Immediately I pulled over to the side of the road and my car was starting to smoke heavily And started to have flames from the engine compartment. I immediately evacuated my vehicle to safety. Within 20 minutes, my car was in flames. Thankfully, the firefighters and the Department of public safety arrived timely to assist so the fire would not spread into the forest. I am very concerned that my brand new 2025 CRV sport touring Hybrid With only 1700 miles went up in flames under normal driving conditions. A new car should never have this happen. On Monday, 11 November 2024 I contacted Honda corporate and reported the incident. They mentioned that a case manager would be assigned to my case But as of today over a week later, I have not heard from Honda. I am in fear for other people safety as this is a new year model engine that could be a repeat issue for others in Honda. Should take this seriously and respond very quickly to address and to figure out what caused my engine to catch fire And cause catastrophic failure.
