The purpose of EV on a Hybrid as defined from several user manuals is Silent Operation.
The manual's notes on EV mode sum it up:
"This mode allows you to drive in residential areas early in the morning and late at night, or in indoor parking lots etc. without concern for noises and gas emissions."
AVAS has destroyed the value of that without giving the customer an option to disable it as in the Stop/Start nonsense.
Honda Corporation is deflecting it as mandated without warning the customer they may no longer wish to purchase a Hybrid. A "marketing Issue"... This complaint should provide customers a warning they may be in for a really awful surprise with the new Honda.
