Honda was using an "indirect" tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) for several years, from at least 2020 to 2024. This indirect system shows a Low Tire indicator on the dash when a change in tire pressure on any of the four tires changes. It does NOT indicate which tire is affected. Thus, you are forced to check all four tires manually. This requires that you find a safe place to pull over and check the tires. You have no way to know if you are getting a flat without exiting the car. The system is VERY sensitive and will indicate Low Pressure if the change is even for a couple of pounds. I recently met someone who had the exact same vehicle as mine. We compared notes. Her CRV does the same thing and we both have experienced a bit of anxiety from it. Honda will tell you to "just recalibrate the system", but that does nothing but tell the vehicle that the tires are now OK at the new levels--even if one is low. This is a safety and performance issue. A Honda salesman told me today that they have gone back to a Direct system with individual tire pressure indicators on the new models. Apparently there have been a LOT of complaints.

The part that failed is called the "ELECTRONIC SERVO PEDAL SIMULATOR UNIT", aka "SET, BOS ASSM." aka "BRAKE PEDAL SIMULATOR (SIMULATOR SET, PEDAL FEEL)" aka "BRAKE PEDAL OPERATING SIMULATOR". The Honda (OEM) part number is 01469-TPG-A95. The part failure was diagnosed at Buckeye Honda in Lancaster, Ohio, in coordination with the Tech department at Honda corp., and was replaced at Buckeye Honda in Lancaster, Ohio. The Buckeye Honda (service department) said that they had not seen this problem before, so they contacted the Tech Dept. at Honda to seek assistance in the diagnosis. The safety of the vehicle occupants was put at risk by the almost complete loss of brake functions and the interacting functions. At first the Brake warning and AVS warning lights would illuminate on the driver's display, and then they would go off and everything would function normally. But the driver' display warnings got more frequent and the brakes would not function normally. Finally, all of the driver's display warnings would sequence through, one by one, and the brakes were almost entirely gone. The Honda dealer did not give me the faulty part because he said it would have to be sent to Honda. I do not know if Honda America will inspect the part to determine the cause of the failure. I did take a cellphone picture of the part. The problem began approx. [XXX]. I picked up the repaired vehicle at Buckeye Honda on Monday [XXX]. The part was out of warranty by about one month: The "In-Service date" was [XXX]. The mileage on the vehicle was 12,920 miles at the time of repair and I am the original owner. Honda America did give me a "Goodwill" authorization number, in coordination with Buckeye Honda in Lancaster, Ohio, which lowered my out of pocket cost to $l457.73. 0n 03/29/2023 i took my car to the dealer for service ( 3rd time ) because my car has only 19000 miles on it. to my surprise the service manager told me that 2 of my tires where in need of attention because there where to close when the tires need to be replace. i ask what is the cause of the uneven wear of the tires ( 5/32,6/32,4/32,4/32) he said didn't know the cause.futher research on my side i find there is a service bulletin from honda ( bulletin 20-081)date from october 8 2020. with paper in hand i went back to the dealer, they refuse have any knowledge in regards to the service bulletin. for that reason they wont be able to help. on my search from help i contact HONDA headquarters they asignate a case number and require a mechanical report from the dealer, in which they didn't find any problems with the car, from that came to the conclusion that the tires where the problem, talk to the tire manufacture, what they told me that HONDA need to file a report for them to warranty the tires, so far HONDA deny any warranty on tires

The tire pressure monitoring system does not work and can't be corrected. It will come on showing a tpm problem. This is not monitoring tire safety. On city streets it will remain correct for several miles. On the highway it registers the tpm problem after two to three miles.

I purchased a new 2020 Honda CR-V'eco in February 2020. On November 6 2020 I took the car to the dealership where I purchased it because of tire disturbance. Their diagnosis was that the front tires were worn to 4/32 and rear sworn to 6/32 and tires were feathered. Tires are Bridgestone ecopia factory originalmtires with onlyn16,481 miles on them. The branding info on the side wall states these arev70,000 tread wear tires.dealer advised to buy 2 new tires to replace the most worn and feathered ones and do nothing more : I became aware that oem tires are not warranted by the tire company because the are built to special specs from Honda. Also isn't using differently worn tires a safety issue on AWD vehicles
