While driving home from work all the dash/warning lights began to come on one after another. The car was about 4 years old, had regular service at a Honda dealer and had not problems prior. I did a quick google search and it suggested changing the battery. I did that the next day and the lights went off. A few months later they returned and would stay a few days then go off again. This continued intermittently for several months including one episode where the brakes were locked up.
Recently, the frequency of how often the dash lights came on increased and now they have remained on for over a week. I had been waiting for the fuel pump recall hoping that would resolve the problem but after that warranty work was done the lights unfortunately are still on. The car also seems a little sluggish at times. Once I could not get the car up past 15 mph so I stopped, turned off and then back on and while the lights were still on I could drive somewhat normally.
During the warranty work they reviewed the car and gave an initial diagnosis of potential fuel injector problems. I returned the next week, and another person looked at it and thought the problem could be caused by rats chewing through the wiring harness. To get a better diagnosis would cost $199 but when I asked if that diagnosis was guaranteed to solve the problem I was told it would not. Instead, this would diagnose a first step.
There are multiple Honda owners with this issue and many like myself have been waiting for the fuel pump recall work hoping that would fix this. Now that it does not the path forward seems less certain.
