Saw similar pictures online. Took car to dealer. He had some pictures of similar issues /complaints. Said he would check with HQ and get back to us on coverage/fix. Got back to us and told us he got approval for a one time "customer goodwill" fix. Told me that it was probably the sun being reflected off of something and/or the car being stationary. We live in northern NJ and it's winter. There is no sunlight being reflected off of anything. I checked periodically over several weeks. I have owned a lot of different cars over the years. I never had a car melt from the sun. My guess... they are not making these parts as well as they used to.This whole thing is just ridiculous and I suspect it will happen again. I may have to try SPF 90.
