CarComplaints.com Notes: It's rare when a newer vehicle has defect trends. Judging from the identical 2017 model year, the 2018 Honda CR-V is likely to have at least two — overfilled oil levels with a gas smell, & heat not working.
Both problems affecting the Honda CR-V's 1.5L "Earth Dreams" engine appear to be related to cold-climate regions.
CR-V owners also report no heat even after warming up their CR-Vs for 30 minutes — not even enough to defrost the windshield. So far, there has been no fix from Honda for this issue.
Whenever I take foot off brake, the engine accelerates. The RPMs go to about 1100 and goes between 5 &7 mph without touching gas pedal. I brought back to dealer and they checked and said everything is at factory specs. I feel that should not accelerate to that extent. This could be an accident ready to happen. I have been driving for 55 years and have had many new cars. I don't remember any car ever doing that.
July 31,2018 around 8 AM, as I was preparing to park at McDonalds in Beaumont,Texas, I pulled into the parking space, straightening my steering wheel, took foot off the gas, lightly step on brake when suddenly the car hyper and unintentionally accelerated, brake would not stop the car- I hit pipes that were installed by McDondalds to protect their business. I have been told the cost will be approximately $6500 to repair the damage. My car has been in the Honda Collision in Beaumont,Texas service since this day and is still there today awaiting a rep from Honda America who, will with the dealer in Beaumont, Texas, check the car to see why this happened . Hopefully this will occur next week?
