CarComplaints.com Notes: It's rare when a newer vehicle has defect trends. Judging from the identical 2017 model year, the 2018 Honda CR-V is likely to have at least two — overfilled oil levels with a gas smell, & heat not working.
Both problems affecting the Honda CR-V's 1.5L "Earth Dreams" engine appear to be related to cold-climate regions.
CR-V owners also report no heat even after warming up their CR-Vs for 30 minutes — not even enough to defrost the windshield. So far, there has been no fix from Honda for this issue.

On Easter Sunday, I was 100 miles from home when my Emergency Brake refused to release. Multiple tries by myself & spouse failed to move the car. My DH tried various things like cleaning and checking the brake lines, battery connections, rocking the car, etc. - to NO AVAIL. 30 minutes later a tow truck dispatched by the AAA arrived. The driver and my spouse spent much time on their phones hunting for a solution, and after another 40 minutes, the tow driver got the brake released with a combination of "seatbelt, ignition, gas pedal, gear".
We then drove home with the brake's idiot light on & parked on a flat spot unit we could get it to the dealership. Dealer stand it was a faulty "switch" & charged quite a bit to replace it - and kept the car overnight as well. This happened about a week after the warranty expired! Pretty disgusted with the experience & do not feel safe in car anymore.
