I bought my 2016 Honda CR-V in December 2017. Never had a problem with this until last year (2018), around the December time frame, I started noticing a rough idle and vibration while the car was in DRIVE, but idling, either at a light, or stop sign. At first it was very intermittent and hard to duplicate, and then it started to occur more and more often and the vibrations got rougher.
To date, I have taken my car in at least 4 or 5 times and no one could duplicate it. The Manager told me after the 4th time of coming in for the same problem that it was probably my choice in gas, and told me to start filling up at certain gas stations which are considered better than others. Did that for 3 weeks or so, with no change. It actually seemed like it got a little worse. Took it back in, and told them the problem still exists. and is very annoying. Others riding in my car feel the vibration all the time and ask why Honda hasn't fixed the problem.
Today was my 5th time taking it in. Tech and manager told me this is normal for my car to run at 600 rpms and that what I'm feeling is normal. No fix, since to them, there is not a problem. Also, I was told that it could be that the car is getting old. Really????
Not sure who else to complain to, but this shaking and rattling an vibration is annoying and not acceptable for a $30,000 vehicle.
Update from Apr 10, 2019: I found an article about this same problem happening with the 2015 Honda CRV's. I brought in the articles that I found on it, and showed it to my Honda dealership. They agreed, and contacted Honda about it. Honda agreed to do the same fix that was done for the 2015 Honda CRV's on my 2016 Year model.
The Repair as outlined is for the 2015-CRV, is Service Bulletin 15-046, Mode 1 ONLY (rough idle/vibration felt when sitting in drive). The fix is to replace the lower radiator cushions, transmission mount and both front seat head restraints. My car was still under the original warranty, so there was no charge to me.
Since the fix was done, the vibration has become much better. Still not 100%, and happens less often and I do see and feel the difference in my vehicle. I suggest asking your Honda Service manager for this fix. Reference Honda TSB 15-046. Do the search on it, and you will find the same problems occurred with the 2015 CRV model. They just never implemented the fix for the 2016's but probably should have.
