Check engine light has come on twice. Had to have car towed at my own expense to a dealer. Said it was rodent problem which I understand to be caused by the material that covers the electrical wiring. I know this is a common problem because the material that they used to repair the wiring had rats all over it! We paid several hundred to have this fixed. The car is parked in a very clean driveway. How could we have prevented what happened? The material they used in the first place was the problem so we shouldn't have been charged at all. They suggested we buy deterrents for rodents which we did immediately.

Next time the check engine light came on a few weeks later, again towed. they said it was the battery and they replaced that. We did not get charged.

Couple of weeks later the light is back on and back to the shop. This time it is the back brakes. Had to be replaced with only approx 8-10 thousand mi on the vehicle. They were going to charge me, but after much fuss, they did them free. Said the brakes went in that short time because we weren't driving it enough.

What are elderly people suppose to do? We have had other vehicles that have had low miles and never had this happen. Now, the brakes are grinding again after putting 3 to 4 thousand mi on car. Have not seen the light yet, but it is a matter of time, I am sure. This is the 5th Honda that I have owned and this is first with such a nuisance.

I buy a new car every 3 yrs to avoid this kind of crap. Customer service has gone way downhill over the years. This will be my last Honda.

Brakes grind continuously. I took it back to dealer and they gave me an estimate of $860.00 to replace all 4 rotors! The car only has 8,000 miles on it. I've had it 7 months. No warranty from them on this. I asked the service manager if I was going to have to do this every 8,000 miles and he said he didn't know! Very disappointing! This is our first Honda and I was hoping to keep it after the lease ran out, but now I just want to get rid of it! Won't be buying another Honda.

Update from Sep 8, 2017: Honda did do the repairs and only charged me $85.00. I'm glad they did the repairs, but that still doesn't help with my disappointment with the vehicle and Honda. I shouldn't have had to go to the Honda rep. to get this taken care of. They made me feel like it was something I didn't take care of on the vehicle. I don't think I will be keeping this vehicle when the lease expires and I doubt very much that I get another Honda.
