Last week I was backing out of our driveway and noticed my car had no power steering. Brought it into the dealer and was told an animal chewed through my wiring. After being quoted a crazy amount I brought it to a local mechanic and got it fixed. 5 days later the exact same thing happened.
What I found out is that Honda uses a soy based wiring in newer Honda vehicles. It’s more environmentally friendly but animals are attracted to it. I googled, and it seems that this is a common complaint. It’s a safety issue that they are aware of but will not issue a recall or cover this damage under warranty.
