Sometimes pauses when accelerating after a stop. Seems to happen more often when last bit of the stop was hard and you step on the gas right away. In my case it was often on a stop at the top of small hill, hence the gas just after you hit the brake. It doesn't have to be an emergency braking, just the last push to the pedal a bit harder then the ongoing braking. Dealership claimed it was because the car was not stopped when I push the gas pedal, but the car WAS in complete stop for a split-second. Looking at other comments I am the only one with this issue, it was my first Honda it might well be my last...

Loss of acceleration on 2015 Honda CRV has been documented by other drivers and noted as a serious concern. I was given the same explanation as another driver..it's the type of transmission, and it is different than prior models. My point is that I don't mind what it does as long as it is consistent. However, I never know when I am going to successfully merge into traffic or accelerate as needed accelerating from a stop. The problem is intermittent and I have narrowly escaped several near incidents / accidents. I will continue to monitor online. Apparently, there needs to be a select number of complaints of this nature before a recall in introduced.

I have taken it in once where the problem could not be replicated (in less than 24) hours from entry to the shop. If anyone has advice on how to proceed that would be helpful. In another year it will be out of warranty!

I have the same since 2000km, brand new 2015 CR-V European i-DTEC 120 BHP 1.6 MT Diesel.

Stop at stop sign, clutch, engage 1st, accel. just as the other 10,000+ times and car hesitates for 1-3 seconds.

Mostly happening when I turn left from a street where I barely can see out and would need the power.

I also noticed that it happens on non-flat surfaces, I mean when I stop at an uphill or just a 1-2% ramp. I feel it like if the car had a gyroscope sensor and then the ECU decides differently. I also have the uphill brake assist, but the brakes already disengaged or not even engaged on the smaller ramps.

Really annoying and really dangerous as you already stated before.

Took to the local dealer, but they found nothing, and said its normal... Someone needs to die before Honda reprograms this failing "feature"???

This car was purchased in December 2016. It drove well but after several days I noticed a hesitation while driving...suddenly there was no power, a pause. Well, as I tried to cross an intersection it paused and took several gas pedal pumps to catch and accelerate, a lot, lurching the car forward. This is definitely a problem. I took it to the Honda dealership who said it was the "new belt drive" and that this was what it did. Awful. If I had known that it was going to be an ongoing problem and cause me to fear driving across every intersection, I would not have bought the car. I absolutely hate the belt drive on the HONDA CRV...period. I feel like I take my life in my hands every time I drive because it is a constant problem every time I drive it. Has anyone ever had this happen and did you ever find a cure ? If they replace the belt drive will it be better ? I have another appointment to take it in later this week so any help will be appreciated. Thank you so much.

Got up to go to work. Went out and tried to start the car and it barely turned over. The temperature outside was 25 degrees, so not awfully cold. Luckily car started. Got to work and called Honda dealership and spoke to Barker Honda Service Manager - Julie. Told her what had happened over the last few weeks and asked her what she would recommend from here, because at this point the new vehicle that I bought two years ago is not reliable for me and my family. I have a 45 mile drive every day and three days a week I have a 60 mile drive each direction to go to nursing school. I have to have something reliable as I work 40 plus hours a week and go to college three days a week. I have three Grandchildren that I transport in my vehicle as well as other family members and I have to have something reliable.

The car went into the dealership this morning and they said they ran lots of electrical and battery tests and checked all of the outlets in the car, but could not find anything wrong. Told them that I was going on vacation in a few weeks and do not want to be trying to fix this same issue there. Julie worked with us and replaced our battery and wants us to monitor the situation.

It is very upsetting that I have spend over $35,000 for a new 2015 Touring Honda CR-V and that it is so unreliable at two years. I bought a Honda after researching how well they hold their value and how reliable they are. I loved the style of this car, but am very dis-satisfied with the reliability of this vehicle. I appreciate the fact that the service manager replaced the battery, but had I have known that the life of the car when put in aud mode only holds a battery charge (according to the Service Manager) of 10 to 15 minutes, I would not have chosen a Honda. I will be in the market for a new car over the next two years and it will take a lot of convincing on Honda's part for me to purchase another Honda. This was my first foreign car purchase and maybe USA made cars are a better fit for my family.

I have written a complaint letter to Honda corporate Headquarters and will update this complaint line when I hear back from them. PS. The mileage on my car is mostly highway mileage as I had a daughter that was in the NAVY stationed in Virginia that we have driven to see eight times in the last two years.

2015 Honda CR-V EX-L started having problems with hesitation at attempts to accelerate when I’d had it one week (August, 2018). Bought the car as Certified Pre-Owned with an additional 4 years warranty after the initial 3 yrs, 36K mi. Now at 32K. Took the car back to the dealer in September, they “found nothing wrong.” They’d put it on diagnostics and the car was fine for a week or so. Then gradually got worse again. This last time, I took the car in Dec 18, 2018 and they had it till Dec 21st. Again they said they could not find anything wrong and if they can’t replicate the problem, they can’t diagnose and therefore can’t fix anything. What really irks me is that in getting the car to the dealer on the 18th it lost power twice, both times merging into traffic on the interstate (VERY DANGEROUS). And when I picked it up and took it home, it cut out two more times, both times in a large parking lot (not as dangerous, but scary). But it never did it for the 3.5 days they had it? American Honda says to take it to another dealer or back to the same one. Until a service tech can replicate it, nothing will be done. They will not even discuss what they suggest doing for other people with the same problem.

The loss of power happens about 55-60% of the time when accelerating from a stop or slow speed. The “excuse” that the brakes are engaged and it takes them a few seconds to disengage is not valid for my car, as the problem also happens when brakes are NOT used. Also, the severity of the loss of power is variable; it could be mild or to the point of lurching. I don’t know if this is fuel mix, transmission, something clogged, or a computer problem. I do know that I am not the only one with the same exact problem. (Richard Shami has posted a YouTube video of the rpms dropping out). There are too many complaints on-line for Honda to keep its head in the sand. And like another gentleman explained, this complaint is the only way to assure documentation in the event of a severe crash due to this common problem.

When stopped at a intersection as I try to accelerate the car pauses for several seconds before it will go. It is dangerous because I can't get out of oncoming traffic. Miller Honda tells me that is a characteristic of the transmission. Unbieveable!!! I'm getting rid of this thing as soon as I can and it won't be replaced with anything Honda makes.

I can't be the only person in the world with this problem. It is a safety issue and should be taken seriously by Honda.

When driving our two month old Honda CRV we have had an unresponsive accelerator and attendant loss of power when driving straight down the road as well as making turns and even changing lanes on the freeway. It is unpredictable and cannot be duplicated when we have tried. The Honda dealer therefore says there is nothing wrong!

This needs to be fixed. We had no problems during the 12 years we drove our previous CRV. That's what we expected when purchasing a new vehicle.

Update from Oct 3, 2016: Just received a letter from Honda that there is a software problem in the CVT. Not sure if this is my problem but the state of California will not renew the auto registration until it is fixed. Got my fingers crossed!

Bought 2015 CRV new after trading a 2014 Nissan Rogue! This problem is reoccurring. Vehicle will lose gas pedal response after taking off from a start or while driving down the road slowly and then trying to pick up speed. It is intermittent and I cannot reproduce the problem at will. The vehicle will act like it is idling and pushing down on the pedal does nothing. Will last for a few seconds and then starts responding again. This happens a couple of times in a row and then operates fine until the next time. Could be a day or 2 weeks? There is no warning lights or codes being created.

Been to the Honda dealer once and was told after 3 days that they couldn't reproduce the problem ( Knew that was coming ) and told me it was likely My AFTER MARKET STEREO!!! Went home and re-installed the factory stereo and lo and behold, the problem once again happened yesterday morning ( about a 2 week time frame ). Called up my sales guy and informed him of the ongoing situation! Don't know what to do next.

This is a BIG safety issue as I have lost response pulling into traffic!! WTF!! This wasn't a cheap car and I don't have disposable money! I have owned 3 Honda Civics and they have been perfect cars! I want MY CAR FIXED!
